R. G. Pikhoya

Rudolf Germanovich Pikhoya is a Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, and Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation. He graduated from the History Department of Ural State University in 1968. He defended his candidate's dissertation in 1974 and his doctorate in 1987. He worked at Ural University, then in Moscow: he headed the State Archival Service of Russia (1990–1996), and since 1997, he has been the head of the Department of the History of Russian Statehood at the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation. He is the author of over 200 scholarly works, including the monograph "The Soviet Union: History of Power. 1945–1991." -- Boris Yeltsin: Pro and Contra, RHGA
